When you decide to visit Saint Petersburg you have to choose the way of your staying. The situation with the accomodations in the city is quite flexible. The prices vary from inexpensive economy for basic facilities to elegant for opulent accomodations or rooms in hotels.
The most expensive hotels are situated in the center of the city. They are such hotels as the Grand Hotel Europe, Astoria and the Sheraton Nevskij Palace.

But if you want to choose an inexpensive hotel they can be Pribaltiskaya, Pulkovskaya, Deson Ladoga, Ohtinskaya.

Most hotels in Russia charge per person, not per room. For two people simply double the price. Many hotels quote their price excluding VAT (20%).
